Domaine de la Salle was filmed in summer 2018 right from the moment we arrived from an overnight flight and a 6 hour drive with our three cats and 6 suitcases in tow. The film crew popped in every now and then to see what projects we were working on. It was fun and also a little bit stressful as we were conscious that they might have driven 5 hours to get to us and we have nothing new for them to film ! However there was a lot going on. Looking back now at the building site we moved in to, we can appreciate how much more towards being finished we are. The film crews were lovely and contrary to what I imagined, it is literally one person with a very heavy camera, and another person who makes sure the batteries are charged, microphones are in order, and all permissions to be filmed have been signed. There is an awful lot of work that goes on behind the scenes. What we are most amazed at, is how much footage is filmed, and how little is actually used in the end and it has been a real insight into the world of television programs. We were in series 2 ( episode 13 - 15) and series 4 ( episodes 11 to 15), with a short appearance in the Christmas specials of 2021( episode 3 ), and another one, I can’t remember what it was !
