Rochefort Artists Open Doors

This weekend, there were about 25 different artists studios and homes that you could visit and I saw almost all of them. This picture features the house of Camille Lescure. She is a designer/embroiderer who has worked in Paris, making beautiful collar pieces for the haute couture fashion catwalks, and so I was really surprised to find her tucked away here in Rochefort.

What interested me, apart from her designs, was that she and her husband had put down that stunning floor themselves. They bought three different lots of tiles, put them together, and then if you look where the wood meets the black tiles, they painted on lines, picking up the colours of the door and the tiles. It was absolutely gorgeous, and well done too.
